Macroscopic model of multidirectional pedestrian network flows

چکیده

Pedestrian flow models are useful for the design and operation of pedestrian spaces. This article describes a macroscopic model flows through networks composed bidirectional corridors that connected by multidirectional intersections. The proposed builds on an existing fundamental diagram to define sending receiving flows, it relies incremental transfer principle across nodes with arbitrary number adjacent links. is solved in cell-transmission formulation all its unidirectional properties consistent kinematic wave model.

Numerical Approximation of a Macroscopic Model of Pedestrian Flows

Abstract. This paper is concerned with the numerical approximation of the solutions of a macroscopic model for the description of the flow of pedestrians. Solutions of the associated Riemann problem are known to be possibly nonclassical in the sense that the underlying discontinuities may well violate the Lax inequalities, which makes their numerical approximation very sensitive. This study pro...

Pedestrian Simulations Using Microscopic and Macroscopic Model

Pedestrians form an important component of a multi-modal transportation system. Planning and design of pedestrian amenities (multimodal points, airports, shopping malls, theaters etc) demand efficient, comfortable and safe walking operations for the pedestrians. Likewise, the movement of large numbers of people is important in many situations, such as the evacuation of a building, stadium in an...

Simulation of Pedestrian Dynamics with Macroscopic and Microscopic Mathematical Models

Here, we collect two parts of a research project on the pedestrian flow modeling. Rapid growth in the volume of public transport and the need for its reasonable, efficient planning have made the description and modeling of transport and pedestrian behaviors as important research topics in the past twenty years. First, we present a macroscopic model for the pedestrian flow based on continuum mec...

Vision-based macroscopic pedestrian models

We propose a hierarchy of kinetic and macroscopic models for a system consisting of a large number of interacting pedestrians. The basic interaction rules are derived from [44] where the dangerousness level of an interaction with another pedestrian is measured in terms of the derivative of the bearing angle (angle between the walking direction and the line connecting the two subjects) and of th...

A macroscopic loading model for dynamic, anisotropic and congested pedestrian flows. Implementation, calibration and case study analysis

Pedestrian facilities are more and more congested. It is important to understand the modeling of pedestrian flows to assure safety and comfort. Many models have already been developed such as the social force modle and PedCTM. The problem is that either they allow for population heterogeneity or they are fast. The goal of this project is to implement a new model that has both of these character...
